CAFÈ: Redefining Historic Cafés as European Cultural Heritage

Description

The project aims to redefine historic cafés as a unique European cultural heritage based on their historical and cultural significance in the 21st century. Cafés played a crucial role in shaping the Enlightenment period, and many "European values" are rooted in their heritage. Concepts such as equality and social inclusion emerged from the conversations held around café tables in the 19th and early 20th centuries. CAFÉ seeks to revitalise this culture by engaging local communities, and contemporary artists—who historically drove social change until the early 20th century.
