On the Paths of Europe

In the summer of 2024, twenty-eight interventions in the form of performances took place in the border zone between the Adriatic and the Alps. They were a part of Project E, whose focus was on developing ideas of a different Europe, as well as highlighting the heritage of Mediterranean Europe and contemporary migration issues. The project was brought to life by three artists, whose experience, creations and everyday life are all intimately intertwined with the crossing of borders. The performance will be discussed by Italian multimedia performer Alessandro Conte, who lives and studies in Italy; Muhammad 'Abd al-Mun'im, a writer and publisher from Syria who lives in Slovenia; and Irene Beltrame, who created video excerpts. During the conversation, moderated by Nataša Rogelja Caf, we will also watch video excerpts from the performance.

Participants: Alessandro Conte (socio-cultural artisan, playwright and actor), Muhammad 'Abd al-Mun'im (editor, writer and poet), Irene Beltrame (visual artist), and Nataša Rogelja Caf (anthropologist, ZRC SAZU), who will moderate the discussion.
